Studio recording, 1990-1991. Kirk Hammett used his ESP KH-2 'Mummy' with EMG 81/60 pickups. The solo was tracked using a blend of Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ and Marshall amps, with possible additional Fender and Vox amps for tonal layering. Wah pedal and a touch of delay were used for the solo. Settings are estimated based on era, genre, and typical Mark IIC+ usage for Metallica in the 'Black Album' sessions.
